Adult fun
With MSC Cruises expanding its offerings to the U.S. market, now might just be the perfect time to test out this brand by booking a Caribbean cruise on MSC Seascape. The nightlife on MSC Cruises was lively as well, with live music, nightly parties, and a dance club open until sunrise. Other locales with specialty menus include the Sports Bar on deck 8 with the most extensive list of beers on the ship. Unlike other cruise lines though, the Kaito Teppanyaki dinner includes a few pieces of sushi and a grilled starter as well prior to the main course.
Kaito Sushi bar
So, we never had issues finding a table somewhere within the venue. Overall, we found the food quality for breakfast and lunch in the buffet to be average at best. The restaurant could certainly benefit from some better organization. Perhaps, it should be set up more like a food hall with themed areas serving a specific type of cuisine. This large, yet intimate venue is home to a variety show which highlights several unique acts each evening. Since this was an inaugural cruise, we suspect any of the kinks we encountered will be resolved as the ship continues to sail the U.S. market.

Help Family of MSC Crew Member Lost at Sea From MSC Seascape - Cruise Law News
Help Family of MSC Crew Member Lost at Sea From MSC Seascape.
MSC Seascape is 20 decks tall[8] Her gross tonnage is 169,400 GT. She has a maximum passenger capacity of 5,179 passengers and 1,648 crew members.[9] The ship holds emphasis on outdoor spaces, with a narrower superstructure and larger promenade areas. Many safety features, environmentally friendly policies, and other minor details are borrowed from her sister ship MSC Seashore. A new attraction known as the Robotron has been featured near the ship's pool deck aft, where the Marina Pool lies on deck 18.
MSC Cruises to temporarily close private destination in the Bahamas, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve
As MSC has announced plans for an increased presence in the country, Seascape will serve as its new U.S. flagship, and the 20-deck vessel's debut marks an expansion of the line's stateside footprint. The image is representative only; the size, layout and furniture may vary (within the same cabin category). Following its christening in New York, MSC Seascape will homeport in Miami, from where it's scheduled to sail Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages. Having said that, whether at Le Cabaret Rouge, Chora Theater, The Atrium or anywhere else where live music was performed, the response from our fellow passengers was steadily enthusiastic. It was not uncommon to see couples dancing to the beat of any songs that live bands performed at the Atrium or populating Le Cabaret Rouge's dance floor with earnest gusto.
MSC Cruises opens summer 2024 itineraries for booking
The 4500-passenger "Seaside EVO" ship design is an enlarged version of MSC's Seaside-Class. Both classes were developed for year-round operations in warm climates. Seaside-EVO ships have larger MSC Yacht Club (Suite-only complex), larger public areas, more outdoor whirlpools, more specialty restaurants with alfresco dining areas (on Promenade Deck 8), more staterooms. It is big enough to offer all of the amenities cruisers want in a cruise ship of that size. Designed to sail in warm climates, it has lots of outdoor space, even al fresco dining in the buffet and specialty restaurants. A real plus for people who want to spend as much time outside as possible.
Family fun
At 169,400 gross tonnage and a capacity for 5,877 guests, it is just 7% smaller than the largest Meraviglia class ship. Launched last November, MSC Seascape is MSC Cruises’ newest cruise ship sailing the sunny waters of the Caribbean. It's no secret that MSC's Seashore EVO-class ships are meant to attract American passengers. This is not only evident from the not-too-subtle nods to New York City -- including a 10-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty and a shopping/entertainment area named Times Square. The 400-seat Le Cabaret Rouge is a fun, intimate venue, modeled after Paris' Moulin Rouge. Bar service was supremely efficient and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Services and Wi-Fi on MSC Seascape
Beyond visiting this ship’s eateries and bars, you’ll find near-endless ways to keep yourself occupied. Travelers of all ages and types will find fun around every corner, thanks to the more than 300 entertainment activities the MSC cruise ship offers at any given time. Where the ship's cabins really shine, though, is in the luxurious MSC Yacht Club. Perched at the top of MSC Seascape, across Decks on the aft, the Yacht Club is MSC's ship-within-a-ship suite experience and the undisputed crown jewel on MSC Seascape.
Located all the way up on Deck 20 and accessible only to passengers staying in the Yacht Club, this pool feels bigger than the Marina Pool and is surrounded by plenty of lounge chairs, a solarium and hot tubs. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the adults-only Infinity Pool at the aft of the ship on Deck 8 is the place to be if you're traveling without children (or you're relying on the Doremiland Kids Club for daycare). The views of the ship's wake here are as relaxing as they are enticing, especially when enjoyed from a sunbed within the pool. A 1,200-seater, the two-deck theater feels intimate enough to the point that there's hardly a bad seat in the house.
A much different story is served up on all five of MSC Seascape's specialty restaurants. It stands to reason that if something costs extra, it will invariably be better than the complimentary options. But on MSC Seascape, the difference felt more pronounced than other similar cruise lines. Your culinary preferences will determine which of the specialty restaurants is best.
Older children are also welcome at Doremiland's dedicated spaces. The Young Club caters to tweens (ages 12 to 14), and features video game consoles (including PlayStation5, Xbox X Series, Nintendo Switch) foosball and ping pong tables. The Teen Club is meant for kids ages 15 and 17, and features its own private entrance. Video game consoles also feature heavily here, while a 'Chill Out' area provides a space to hang out, engage in social media and play games like ping-pong, foosball and billiards.
There are ample ways to enjoy a little retail therapy when you’re aboard an MSC Seascape cruise. Whether you want to shop for your duty-free favorites, tech, tobacco, liquor, snacks, fashion accessories, leather goods, perfumes, cosmetics, sunglasses or just a cool souvenir, you can do so. Whether or not you book an Aurea room, you can still visit the MSC Aurea Spa and enjoy all the relaxation options that await there. Whether you prefer a massage, want a new look from the salon, or crave a quiet moment in the thermal area, you can find all this and more.
This setup is much better than the often stuffy solariums you find on other mega-ships. MSC Seascape is a 154K gross ton ship featuring about 2270 staterooms and carrying over 5,100 guests at double-occupancy. The ship’s Yacht Club, the ship within a ship concept, is home to 131 suites, as well as several decks of private amenities.
Further, it is one deck below the youth area, making it a great option for families. The vessel is fully compliant with IMO's "Safe Return to Port" requirement (how long the cruise ship should remain safe for evacuation). In November 2017 MSC ordered 2x "Seaside EVO" class ships from Fincantieri (contract value EUR 1,8 billion). The new vessels are bigger (16 m longer, GT-tons larger, with 200 more cabins / 467 more passengers) in comparison to Seaview and Seaside. Newbuilds' deliveries were scheduled for 2021 (Seashore) and 2023 (Seascape). With Seaside EVO, MSC had a total investment of EUR 10,5 billion into 12 new vessels with scheduled deliveries by 2026.
I watched a friend drive the simulated race car, on the famed Italian track at Monza, Italy. If you are the type of cruiser who loves a new ship, this is a great one to book. Now that it has been sailing for a couple of months, operations seemed to flow smoothly while I was onboard. A week-long round-trip cruise from Miami departing April 9, with stops in Cozumel, George Town, Grand Cayman and more, starts at $1,136 based on double occupancy, according to the line's website. That includes most food and drinks such as regular coffee, tea and water.

Guests can explore the island’s Arts and Cultural Pavilion to appreciate Bahamian traditions and natural beauty, as well as embark on Eleuthera excursions developed with local tour operators. That is just a peek of the art that will fill these beautiful spaces, all drawn from the coral, seashells, fish and flowers that inform the architecture and also inspire Eleuthera’s local artists. From Bahamian-inspired Mickey and Minnie plush to apparel with the festive feel of Junkanoo, these collections will give guests a chance to bring home keepsakes that reflect some of the experiences at this vibrant island destination. Treasures of Eleuthera will be the retail shop featuring locally made gifts and artisan crafts.
Port Adventures for Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Released
Disney Imagineers have collaborated extensively with local artists and cultural experts in The Bahamas. They have explored various art and cultural sites throughout New Providence and Eleuthera, including Junkanoo shacks and renowned art galleries. Families visiting Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on Disney cruises can take advantage of Disney-designed amenities for a carefree beach day. Towels, lounge chairs, umbrellas, food, and fun are all included in the cruise package, so guests can relax in the sun without spending a fortune. Disney Cruise Line is dedicated to protecting The Bahamas’ environment at Lighthouse Point, investing millions in conservation projects and partnering with local organizations and scientists. They also aim to create sustainable economic opportunities for Bahamians by generating jobs and supporting artists, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.

Disney Cruise Line Partners with Junior Achievement Bahamas to Build Work Readiness Skills on Eleuthera
A Bahamian art and culture pavilion featuring special programs and local artists will provide DCL visitors to Lighthouse Point opportunities to learn and celebrate the traditions and natural beauty of The Bahamas. Disney’s Castaway Cay has some of the most unique amenities and activities I have seen on a cruise line private island. Some of these activities include a complimentary 5k run (or walk, as guests are free to participate at their own leisure) that includes a prize at the end, as well as the underwater snorkel trail.
Disney Wish Stateroom Tour
The new destination will complement Castaway Cay, giving families the opportunity to enjoy the site’s beautiful beaches and explore nature, as well as enjoy the broader tourism offerings in Eleuthera. Disney Cruise Line is creating a new experience in Eleuthera – Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. The destination will create sustainable economic opportunities for Bahamians, protect and sustain the natural beauty of the site, celebrate culture, and help strengthen the community in Eleuthera. Disney Cruise Line’s highly anticipated Bahamas destination, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, is set to open in the summer of 2024. This brand-new island retreat will seamlessly blend Bahamian culture with Disney magic for guests on multi-night cruises from Florida. In this guide, we discuss what we know so far – the prime location, sailing dates, pricing, and a variety of activities catering to all ages.
Don’t hesitate to reach out to The Vacationeer now for a free instant price quote to see how affordable a Disney cruise to Lighthouse Point can be. Their team of experts is ready to guide you every step of the way, ensuring a magical and unforgettable Disney Cruise Line experience. This year, Disney increased our support of Junior Junkanoo, and I experienced first-hand how much of an impact that made on this program and community. You’re invited to follow the Disney Parks Blog for exclusive updates at Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney Cruise Line’s newest, one-of-a-kind tropical retreat on the island of Eleuthera, The Bahamas. Disney Cruise Line aggressively proceeding with its fleet expansion (not to mention the surprise acquisition of another partially-completed ship) made it likely that Lighthouse Point was going forward.
A three-night preview cruise on the Disney Magic from Fort Lauderdale is scheduled for June 6, 2024 and will feature a sneak peek of Lighthouse Point with limited access to some areas. Throughout Summer 2024, Lighthouse Point will be a featured stop on select three-, four- and five-night sailings to The Bahamas and Caribbean on the Disney Magic out of Fort Lauderdale. These South Florida-based itineraries will vary stops between Lighthouse Point and Castaway Cay, with five special sailings including both Disney Cruise Line island destinations. Additional recreational activities will be available for guests of all ages, including a covered gaming pavilion, volleyball court, gaga ball pit, watercraft and bicycle rentals, nature trails for hiking and biking, and more. New Port Adventures developed in partnership with local tour operators will take guests beyond Lighthouse Point to explore the rich culture and breathtaking beauty of Eleuthera. This stretch of sun-drenched serenity will offer Disney Cruise Line guests a dedicated dining area for convenient access to food and drinks throughout the day, plus six private cabanas available by reservation.
Right now, it is unknown if the port will be able to host more than one ship at a time. Castaway Cay only supports a single ship per day, so it stands to reason Lighthouse Point will likely only host one Disney Cruise Line ship at a time. Because most passengers are fans of the Disney company, similar to planning a visit to one of Disney’s theme parks, passengers tend to invest more time into planning their cruise vacation simply because there is a lot to know. Additionally, those looking for extra Disney magic can book a cruise to Lighthouse Point, Disney's second private destination nestled on the island of Eleuthera. Featuring all-new amenities and activities ashore, Lighthouse Point is sure to entice as well as excite Disney Cruise Line passengers. From the rotational dining model to Disney's private destinations in The Bahamas, here's what you can expect when planning and setting sail on a Disney cruise.
Port Adventures for Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Released - DCL Fan
Port Adventures for Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Released.
As with DCL’s other private island, Castaway Cay, Lighthouse Point will offer activities and areas for every age group. Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a port in The Bahamas, on the shore of the island of Eleuthera. It’s both a tropical vacation destination and home to a rich island culture, numerous traditions, and plenty of local stories –– meaning this port blends natural beauty with local influence. The natural beauty of The Bahamas and outdoor fun come together in the vibrant, magical destination that is Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Find out what’s in store when your Disney Cruise Line ship visits this port, and what you can expect once you arrive. The garments will have a distinct Bahamian flair, inspired by the bright, colorful spirit of Junkanoo, the country’s signature festival filled with joyous music and vibrant parades.
In early 2019, Disney purchased the privately-owned Lighthouse Point and signed an agreement with the Government of The Bahamas that will serve as a guide for the responsible development of the site. Disney intends to develop less than 20% of the land and has committed to sustainable construction and environmental monitoring during building and once in operation. It has also donated over 190 acres of the property to the local government, and access to Lighthouse Point will also be allowed for local residents. Disney Cruise Line is, in my personal opinion, a great cruise vacation for those guests traveling as a family, a couple looking for an adventure at sea, or a multi-generational family looking to make memories together. Additionally, guests can also enjoy complimentary screenings of newly released Disney films. Watching the movies later in the evening ensured that I did not miss any of the fun and events that happened each night onboard.
A Disney Conservation Fund grant helped support components of the work that led to the creation of The Bahamas Marine Protection Plan, which recommended priority MPAs across The Bahamas. Over the past three years, DCL has vastly enhanced the scientific knowledge of Lighthouse Point and its marine facility plans have continued to evolve to intentionally avoid coral reefs. The report that proposed the MPAs points out that the reef near Lighthouse Point has suffered from a reduction in live coral cover.
By providing my email address I'd like to receive updates, special offers, and other information via electronic messages and postal mail from Disney Destinations, LLC and other members of The Walt Disney Family of Companies. If anyone could “sell” a project like this to conservation groups or those otherwise opposed or on the fence, Joe Rohde is that person. He has an effortless way of passionately speaking about pretty much anything, doing so in an earnest and engaging way. Unlike some stuffed shirt, if he says Disney will focus on culture and conservation, you believe him.
This destination is strategically positioned 133 miles southeast of Castaway Cay, Disney’s Private Island, and 75 miles east of Disney’s Nassau port, making it a desirable addition to numerous Disney Cruise Line itineraries. Disney’s Lighthouse Point retreat is located on the southernmost tip of Eleuthera, an island in The Bahamas. Eleuthera is part of the Great Bahama Bank, with its western side on the bank and its eastern coast facing the Atlantic Ocean. The island extends approximately 110 miles in length and is just over a mile wide at its narrowest point, offering 210 miles of coastline. Summer will be here before we know it, which means the grand opening of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is quickly approaching!
The quick cruise is the perfect way to get on the water if you just want to spend a weekend at sea on an otherwise land-bound trip. Check out a few shore excursions, or go it alone, knowing you have the perfect place to call home, even for a few days, each night. The cruise line prides itself on its low guest-to-crew member ratio, ensuring your every need is easily met.

Tips
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable cruise to Mexico, here are some practical tips to consider:
**Tip 1: Pack Light and Utilize Packing Cubes**
Cruise staterooms are typically compact, so packing light is essential. Utilize packing cubes to organize your clothing and maximize space. These cubes help compress your items, keeping your suitcase neat and organized. They also make it easier to unpack and repack when you reach your destinations.
**Tip 2: Choose Versatile and Quick-Drying Clothing**
Mexico's warm climate calls for breathable and quick-drying clothing. Opt for lightweight fabrics like linen, cotton, and moisture-wicking materials. These fabrics will keep you comfortable in the heat and humidity, and they will dry quickly if you get caught in a rain shower. Avoid packing heavy or formal attire unless necessary for specific events.
**Tip 3: Prioritize Sun Protection**
The Mexican sun can be intense, so sun protection is paramount. Pack a high-quality, broad-brimmed hat to shield your face and neck from the sun's rays. Additionally, bring sunglasses with UV protection and apply reef-safe, biodegradable sunscreens to protect your skin. Reapply your sunscreens regularly, especially after swimming or towel drying.
**Tip 4: Bring Essential Toiletries and Medications**
While cruise ships typically provide basic toiletries, it's wise to pack your own essentials. Bring travel-sized containers of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and any other personal care items you prefer. Also, pack any prescription medications you may need, along with a small first-aid kit for minor emergencies.

**Tip 2: Immerse Yourself in Local Cuisine**
Mexican cuisine is a UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage, renowned for its diverse flavors and ingredients. Venture beyond the all-inclusive dining options on the cruise ship and explore local restaurants or street food stalls. Opt for loose-fitting garments that provide ample air circulation. Avoid tight-fitting clothes, as they can restrict movement and cause discomfort in the heat. Consider packing a light sweater or jacket for evenings or air-conditioned areas.
Choose moisture-wicking fabrics that draw sweat away from your body, keeping you cool and dry. These fabrics are especially beneficial for shore excursions or activities that involve physical exertion.
Quick-drying fabrics are also a wise choice, as they will dry quickly after being washed or getting wet. This is particularly useful if you plan on swimming or engaging in water activities during your cruise.
By packing lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking clothing, you'll ensure your comfort and enjoyment throughout your Mexican cruise adventure.
Comfortable footwear
When choosing footwear for your Mexican cruise, prioritize comfort and versatility. You'll be doing a lot of walking both on and off the ship, so it's essential to have shoes that provide adequate support and cushioning.
Opt for breathable materials like leather or canvas, which allow your feet to breathe and prevent excessive sweating. Avoid synthetic materials, as they can trap heat and moisture, leading to discomfort.
Consider packing a pair of comfortable walking shoes with good arch support. These shoes will provide stability and reduce fatigue during long days of exploration. If you plan on doing any hiking or outdoor activities, consider packing a pair of hiking boots or sneakers with ankle support.
For more formal occasions or nights out, pack a pair of dress shoes or sandals that are still comfortable enough to wear for extended periods. Slip-on shoes or sandals are a good choice, as they are easy to put on and take off, especially when going through security or embarking and disembarking the ship.
By packing comfortable and versatile footwear, you'll ensure that your feet stay happy and supported throughout your Mexican cruise adventure.
Sun protection
Mexico's warm and sunny climate makes sun protection essential for a comfortable and safe cruise experience. Pack a variety of sun protection measures to shield yourself from the harmful effects of UV rays.
Sunscreen
Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Apply sunscreen liberally to all exposed skin, including the face, ears, neck, hands, and feet. Reapply sunscreen every two hours, or more often if swimming or sweating.
Sunglasses
Wear sunglasses that provide 100% UV protection. Choose sunglasses with large lenses to protect the delicate skin around your eyes.
Hat
A wide-brimmed hat will provide shade for your face, neck, and ears. Choose a hat made of a breathable material like cotton or straw.
Cover-ups
Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants can provide additional sun protection while still keeping you cool. Choose loose-fitting, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen.
By taking these sun protection measures, you'll minimize your risk of sunburn, premature aging, and other sun-related health issues, allowing you to enjoy your Mexican cruise to the fullest.
Toiletries
While cruise ships typically provide basic toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and soap, it's always a good idea to pack your own essential toiletries to ensure you have the products you prefer and to avoid any potential shortages.

Soap and body wash
Bring a bar of soap or a travel-sized bottle of body wash for daily cleansing. Choose a soap that is gentle on your skin and has a pleasant scent.

Medications
If you take any prescription medications, it's essential to pack a sufficient supply for the duration of your cruise, plus a few extra days in case of unexpected delays. Keep your medications in their original containers and pack them in a carry-on bag or personal item for easy access.
In addition to your prescription medications, consider packing over-the-counter medications for common ailments such as headaches, upset stomach, and motion sickness. Pack a small first-aid kit with basic supplies like bandages, antiseptic wipes, and pain relievers.
